When Feeling Gratitude is Hard
Gratitude in a spiritual and wellness sense has become accepted now, and thank goodness!
You may have seen the phrase “the veil is thin in October"—let's take a quick second to explore that
October is almost gone! October is a special month for me. It’s not only my birthday month, but it’s also a month full of some powerful energy. If you’ve been roaming around social media, you may have seen posts with the phrase, “the veil is thinning” or “October is the month when the veil is thin.” I wanted to take a quick second to talk about what this means.
Many believe that around Samhain it’s easier to get in touch with the Other Side—where their crossed over loved ones and/or Spirit resides. It’s a belief that is shared in multiple different practices—Halloween, Day of the Dead, All Soul’s Day, to name a few. It’s at its thinnest around October 31st through November 2nd, though the time before and after are also supposed to make it easier to access the other side.
So how does this affect you? Well, Andrea and I were talking about this on the phone the other day and here are a few things you may experience this week and next week:
Here’s some things you can do to work with this energy:
Samhain isn’t the only time of year that the veil can feel thin. I’ve noticed it occuring around times of birth and death, as well. If you’re giving birth or around someone who is about to, you may want to be more conscious of that energy and work with the suggestions above. This also applies to being around someone who is dying. When the veil thins, in these instances, there is so much you discover and learn about those around you and about yourself.
It may feel cliche to hear about all this “veil thinning stuff” but it’s a real thing—especially for folks with mediumship abilities. Take some time to tune in to see how the energy affects you. You may find that it doesn’t make much of a difference. Or it could help you connect in ways that you’ve been working on and just needed the extra boost this time of year offers.
